Setting up Prepacks in JAS

Introduction

Prepacks allow users to predefine specific quantities for each size in a given size range. The most common use of prepacks is by companies that sell a style in predefined quantity breakdowns such as (S‑M‑L) (1‑2‑1).  If a customer orders 5 of the (1‑2‑1) prepack, he will automatically receive (5‑10‑5) pieces.

The use of prepacks is becoming increasingly popular in the apparel industry because it standardizes inventory ratios of sizes in a style, making it easy to spot oversold conditions. Prepacks also increase speed and accuracy when entering orders.

The following wiki explains how to set up a prepack for a specific style, and how to create orders using this prepack.

  1. In the main JAS menu, go to:

    • Setup

    • Size Codes/Prepacks

2. Select the appropriate size scale that requires a prepack.
Click on "Add Prepack".

3. Enter a prepack code for the size scale.

4. The prepack code will now be entered in the grid.  This is a one-character code and can be a letter or a number.

Enter the appropriate prepack breakdown.

5. Once the prepack breakdown for that particular size scale has been created, click on "Update".

In this example, a prepack "B" for size scale "5" has been created.
