Introduction

The following document explains how to set up BOM by size in JAS.

 Instructions

Step 1: Activating the BOM by size option for the material

In JAS go to:

  • Material

  • Maintenance

  • Add/Change

Enter the appropriate style & color.

Click on "Modify".

Under "BOM by Size" enter "Y" for 'Yes'.

Step 2: Activating the BOM by size option for the style

In JAS go to:

  • Styles

  • Maintenance

  • Add/Change

Enter the appropriate style & color.

Click on "Modify".

Under "BOM by size" select "Y" for 'Yes'.

Click on "Update".

Step 3: Adding in the Style BOM information

In the style file, click on "BOM".

Select "Add" to enter the material.

Enter the appropriate information.

Under "BY SIZE ?" select "Y" for 'Yes'.

Click on "Update".

Enter the unit requirements for the material for each size available on the style.

Click on "Update".

There are three options that can be selected:

1. The material color is always the same as the style color

  • Select this option when the color code on the Material file is ALWAYS identical to the color code on the Style file.

  • Ex: The the "red" style uses "red" material, the "blu" style uses "blu" material, etc. This is most often true if this is the primary material used to manufacture the garment.

2. The material color is always constant

  • This is often the case for a secondary material.

  • An example of this might be when all of the garments use the same color material for the lining. In other words the "red" style and the "blu" style and the "tan" style, etc. all have a  "wht" lining or collar or sleeve, etc.

  • If you select this option, you will be prompted to enter the Material Color code.

3. Each style color uses a different material color

  • This means that for each color on the style file, you will manually specify the correct material color.

  • Example; you make a shirt where the body and collar are different colors. If the body of the shirt is "red", "blu" or "tan", the collar is "wht". However, if the body of the shirt is "wht", the collar is "red". In this case, there is no way to correlate the color of the collar to the body automatically. Therefore, you must enter the information manually. For each style color on the style master you will be prompted to enter the corresponding material color code. If you do not want to assign a color at this time, press Enter, to leave the field blank or add to the rest of the colors.

Depending on the option that is selected, you will get brought to a different screen.

If "The material color is always the same as the style color" is selected

  • A message will appear in the top-right hand corner informing you that the material has been updated.

  • You will then be brought back to the screen to add other styles, if applicable.

If "The material color is always constant" is selected

  • You will then be brought to the screen to enter the appropriate color and costs.

If "Each style color uses a different material color" is selected

  • You will then be brought to a screen to enter the other colors.

Once all the information has been entered, click on "Update".
