Introduction

If there is a crash in the system due to an interruption in power or any other incident that affects your processing, it is possible that all or some data tables were unable to update successfully. This can then cause incorrect reporting on reports. The following wiki explains how to run a reindex that will update the tables to ensure that they are correct. Note: this procedure should be followed by an integrity check.

Setup

In the main JSI menu, go to:

  • Utilities

  • Reorder/ Reindex/ Pack File(s)

Insert a check mark under "Force Reindex / Pack Files. "

Select 'Reindex Only'

Select the appropriate files.

Select "Files in ALL Data Companies."

Click on "Proceed."

In the case of a crash in the system, select all the tables.

Click on "Proceed".

Once complete, a log will appear showing the files that were reordered or reindexed.  Each table is listed separately. If the detailed lines start with "TAG", it means that the process completed.  If the process did not complete, there will be a note next to the table name, "structure could not be opened".
