Resolving the 'Problem with Journal File' Message

Introduction


It can occur where users will receive the following message when trying to generate transactions in the Specialx menu:



"Problem with Journal File"
 
This message is due to a corrupted file.
 
Resolving this message


Step 1: Renaming the files

Go into the main JAS directory. Select data 1.

Find journal.dbf & journal.cdx

Rename the "journal.dbf" to "journal.dbfold" and "journal.cdx" to "journal.cdxold"


Note: The journal file is a temporary file that gets generated each time you run the generate transaction program.




Step 2: Run a fix file structure

Note: The fix file structure only has to be run on the Journal table.
