The following wiki explains how to run a process called Fix File Structure in JAS. This process is sometimes required to make sure that JAS programs and screens are using the most current data table structures.
In order to ensure that the programs update correctly, please confirm that all users are logged out of JAS before (and while) this program is run. Locking JAS is recommended to keep users out during the process.
Note: It is absolutely essential that automated programs, such as programs running on a scheduled basis in the background for Hubsoft or a 3PL system, are stopped before running the File Fix Structure. If they are not stopped, the programs can interfere with the File Fix Structure to cause a lot of errors.
In the JAS main menu, go to:

Other options: Force Reindex - This option will reindex (used to delete and recreate indices from scratch) all files. Files in Current Data Company Only - The above processes will only be done in the current data company. Files in Selected Data Companies Only - The user will be able to select in which data company(ies) the first two options will be checked. Force Reindex Audit Trail Files - This option will reindex the audit trail files.

A message will appear to show that the program is running.
Log File / ReportOnce the Fix File Structure is complete, the user can view the report to make sure that it ran successfully.
If the program did NOT run successfully, the report will indicate where a Structure could not be opened. This normally means that the file is being used by a user or by a JAS process. Once this person or program is identified and shut down, you can run the Fix File Structure on this file only, using the instructions above. |
