It can occur where users will receive the following error message in JAS:

Error 1705

File access is denied j:\aims\data5\style.dbf.

Explanation of this error message

This error message is due to a sharing violation.

  • Someone is holding the style file open which is causing other users to be unable to open the file.

  • This mostly occurs due to a crash in the system that caused the file to remain open.

To resolve this error message, try rebooting your computer. If you are still receiving this message afterwards, proceed with having all users reboot their machine and try again.
